Panthers are NFC Champs

Because my husband is a HUGE Carolina fan, congrats to them for making it to the Superbowl!

As much as I love my team, I have watched more Panthers than the Saints this year. Mostly because I’m way too busy with a baby to sit still for that long – and my husband is a crazy fan. Crazier than I am anyways.

So he’s dominated the TV a bit and L has dominated my time.

The Panthers are a blast to watch.

I hope this year is their year, they deserve it after the smack-down against the Cardinals and a half-smack down on the Hawks.

Go Carolina and congratulations.

PS LUKE KUECHLY —- please be a Saint in the near future!!!

Super-awesome Saints themed baby shower!

Last week my military family threw what is quite possibly, in my totally biased opinion, the sweetest shower ever.

They kept it a complete surprise from me. At some point they did tell me what day the shower was on…but I didn’t even know the time until the morning of. A couple people text me and said they had received an invitation and it was the cutest thing they’d ever seen and I’m inclined to agree.

For anyone who doesn’t know me there are a few things I’m seriously passionate about. Those would be (in no particular order) my pets, my husband, Disney, Harry Potter, glitter, pink things, penguins and my sports teams: Sacramento Kings, Boston Red Sox and the New Orleans Saints. I’m pretty obsessed over all of these.

So they surprised me with a football and Saints inspired baby shower.

Ignore my terrible job of blurring out important info.

Delicious and football themed treats! Football brownies, cupcakes and deviled eggs. Also popcorn, BBQ little smokies ( a favorite of mine!) and veggies. I love me some football food!

Another really cool thing these lovely gals cooked up was having a football for baby that all of the attendees signed in gold sharpie. When I told my husband about it later he was all excited that baby boy got his first football!

Baby's first Autographs

Among games like baby shower bingo and a super cute name that baby animal game, they embraced my love of football and my desire to cloth diaper with a “put a cloth diaper on a football” relay race. My team won. 🙂

Cloth Diapering a football

It was such a great day! I’d had a really rough week and my friends reminded me how lucky I am! I can never thank these three girls enough for their love and support over the last nine months. They are simply amazing.

Sweetest people ever!

And thank you everyone who came to join in the football fun! You are all so amazingly sweet and I am lucky to know you! (Sorry we missed you in this picture Lindsay!)

Awesome people!

Baby and I are feeling all kinds of love. Thank you all so much!!

Can we discuss at length how much I hate the 49ers?

I am so sick of the San Francisco 40-whiners. I hate them.

I hate that the NFL wants them to win.

They are not back to glory days of Joe Montana and Steve Young, when they were a respectable team.

Alex Smith has slightly improved due to some legit leadership from Jim Harbaugh.

But let’s look at the 49ers wins and losses this season, shall we? If you you’d like the full list, please click here.

To begin the season they played the Seahawks and won. The Seahawks suck. Then they lost to the Cowboys.

Next SF had four straight wins before their bye playing against the Bengals, Eagles, Bucs and the Lions. The only game I will give any credibility to is the Lions. Good game, good win. The other three were crap teams with only the Bengals making the playoffs, but they weren’t any good either really.

After the bye, they own another four straight playing the Browns (sucky) the Redskins (sucky) the Giants and the Cards. The Giants have their moments of brilliance and their moments of craptasticness. But they do have a great team.

Then the 49ers lost to the Ravens – probably one of the toughest teams they played all season.

The last 5 games of the season were victories over the Rams, Cards, Steelers, Seahawks and Rams again!

Come on. They played five decent opponents all season and lost to two of them (Cowboys and Ravens) but I’ll give them credit for beating the Giants, Steelers and Lions.

The fumble on Pierre Thomas was bullshit. That was a helmet to helmet hit that probably knocked Thomas out, causing him to drop the ball. That was a horrible no call.

Had that been called like it should’ve been, the Saints would’ve started ahead 7-0 but no.

And screw the damn announcers saying the 49ers defense forced the turnover. No, it was an illegal hit, there’s no skill in that. There’s no forcing. But whatever.

At the end of the day, win or lose, the things the Saints have done this season, this 49ers squad couldn’t do in their wildest day dreams.

If the 49ers had a legit schedule without playing some of the weakest teams in the league multiple times this season, we wouldn’t be sitting here.

Not to mention I have no faith in Alex Smith.

Put Kaep in there maybe I’ll change my tune, but alas I hate the Goddamn Niners.

First snow!

I would like to personally welcome the first snow of 2012 to my town.

I’m way excited.

I do feel bad that my poor husband is sitting outside right now but it should be clear in a few hours!

Also, my kitten now realizes there’s white sparkly fluffy things falling outside and she’s laying in her tree ready to attack. It’s pretty cute!

Now onto the sports…..this weekend was pretty nuts. 24-2, really Atlanta? That’s just embarrassing, honestly. And congrats to the Denver Broncos. I’m not going to touch on them much because I honestly am sick of the Tebow trashing. He’s done nothing to all of those out there who hate him to hate him. It’s pretty ridiculous, in my opinion.

I can’t wait for Saturday to watch Saints and 49ers game!

Tonight is the BCS National Championship, that should be a pretty good game.

And for those who like fluff – there will be loads of trashy fluffy tonight on The Bachelor.

Hope everyone had a great Monday!

Winning is a beautiful thing

And that was a beautiful game by the Saints.

Well maybe not the first quarter. I was a little stressed. My husband brought me over a bottle of tequila and a shot glass….after that second touchdown by the Lions the tequila didn’t help me much.

But then those all mighty Saints turned it around and put on offensive clinic for Detroit.

They are just flat out insane.

So thrilled that my boss let me go home early today so I could watch the magic happen.

Stoked to see the Saints take on the Niners next week….seeing as how San Francisco was the nearest team as I grew up. Bring it!

By the way, next door neighbors and people who live under us….I’m sorry for the screaming, yelling, banging and stomping. It won’t happen again. Until next week. 🙂
